Assessment Philosophy

At KBWHC, we believe that assessment is not only about measuring learning, but for learning. Our grading system is transparent, fair, and designed to reflect a student’s true understanding and mastery of skills, consistent with Lebanese Ministry of Education standards.

Grading Scale

Letter Grade Percentage Lebanese Scale (20) Description
A+ 95 – 100% 19 – 20 Excellent / Distinction
A 90 – 94% 18 – 18.75 Outstanding
B+ 85 – 89% 17 – 17.75 Very Good
B 80 – 84% 16 – 16.75 Good
C+ 75 – 79% 15 – 15.75 Above Average
C 70 – 74% 14 – 14.75 Average
D 50 – 69% 10 – 13.75 Passing (Moyenne)
F Below 50% Below 10 Fail

Evaluation Components

A student’s final grade is not determined by a single exam. We use a Continuous Assessment model to ensure students are engaged throughout the term.

Mid-term and End-of-term assessments testing knowledge retention.

Quizzes & Tests
Regular short assessments to track weekly progress.

Projects & Research
Hands-on application, STEAM projects, and presentations.

Participation & Homework
Class engagement, discipline, and homework completion.

Report Card Frequency

Parents receive report cards three times per year (End of Term 1, Term 2, and Final Year). Additionally, progress reports are sent mid-term for students who require academic support.
