Secondary School

Welcome to KBWH Secondary School.

KBWH philosophy is “to provide excellence in education through equipping our students with the 21st century skills essential for the current demands in linguistics, scientific, artistic and technological fields whereby they develop cultural awareness and leadership traits”. Our secondary school team support students academically and emotionally to prepare students to become responsible and lifelong learners.

The Secondary School offers a three- year program, Grades 10-12. It offers the Lebanese program which prepares students for the official Lebanese Baccalaureate Examination, and the Foreign Program prepares students for the High School Diploma or for the French Baccalaureate (Baccalaureat Francais).

The Lebanese Program is available to all students in English and French for the main subjects including Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. In the French, English is taught as a third language and vice versa. History, Geography, Civics are taught in Arabic in addition to Philosophy for grades 11 and 12. Economics and Sociology are taught in Arabic, English or French.

Depending on students’ school final grades, Grade 10 students are placed either the Sociology and Economics Section or in the Scientific Section in the following academic year. At the end of grade 11 and according to students’ school grades, students are placed in Sociology and Economics Section or Life Sciences Section or General Sciences Section.

The Foreign program is offered to Lebanese or non- Lebanese students. Lebanese students who lived more than three years abroad, and non- Lebanese students coming from abroad or living in Lebanon can join this Program. This program was officially licensed by the Lebanese government (decree 12/5195). It prepares students for High School Diploma-Freshman or for the French Baccalaureate (Baccalaureat Francais). A pull-out system for the Foreign Program students is implemented in specific subject areas (Math, Arabic Language, English language, Sciences, Economics and Sociology), where we work with the students according to their needs.

The Inclusive Program is offered for students who have special needs or learning difficulties. This program, managed by Makassed Learning Abilities Center (MLAC), offers pull out and support sessions in Math, Sciences, Sociology and Economics and Languages based on students’ Individualized Educational Plans (IEP). MLAC prepares students’ files to be submitted for the Ministry of Education for receiving suitable assistance (depending on the student’s case) during the grade 12 official exams.

We are proud of our KBWH graduates.
